Nuclear and Particle Physics provides an introductory course on nuclear and particle physics for undergraduate and early-graduate students, which the author taught for several years at the University of Zurich. It contains fundamentals on both nuclear and particle physics, giving emphasis to the discovery and history of developments in the field, and is experimentally/phenomenologically oriented, often illustrated with intuitive arguments. It contains detailed derivations of formulae that are hard to find elsewhere; for example 2–3 body phase space, the Weinberg-Salam model, and neutrino scattering.

Originally published in German as Kern- und Teilchenphysik, it became one of the standard textbooks on the subject in German-speaking countries. Updated and translated for IOP Expanding Physics, this new version includes modern topics, in particular updates on neutrinos, the Higgs boson, the top quark and bottom quark physics.

The textbook is interesting for undergraduates and graduate students, and from a pedagogical view point it could also be useful for teachers.  Mustapha Oulne 2015 Zentralblatt MATH 1335, FIZ Karlsruhe – Leibniz Institute for Information Infrastructure
