Budget constraints challenge collection development in unprecedented ways. Collection development has increasingly become a cooperative effort among libraries in geographic proximity. Her topics include teaching one another interlibrary loan since the library schools do not do it, how to get the Online Computer Library Center (OCLC) to listen to librarians, do not just say 'no' when faced with rules and policies, whether to buy or borrow to get what the patron needs, confusing and difficult problem or question, and taking responsibility at the local level.
